ABOUT ME

It takes great courage to let go of old ideas and perceptions in order to step into the realm of possibility. The reality is all of us have this courage.

As a personal coach, it's my privilege to help you grow into the person you're meant to be by helping you develop stronger connections with your inner voice. I'm a firm believer that all answers lie within; it's simply a matter of asking the right questions.

My philosophy, inspired by the Coaches Training Institute, is simple:

  • I believe everyone is naturally creative, resourceful, and whole.

  • I take a holistic approach.

  • I meet you where you are.

  • I use a combination of somatic coaching, cognitive behavioral coaching, neuroscience and positive psychology in each of our coaching sessions.

Working together, we'll uncover your fundamental values and use them as a guide to create simple steps to help you achieve your goals. We'll also develop tools tailored for you so you can manage your emotions more effectively, stay connected to yourself, and gain more confidence.

As a client, I ask you to be patient and kind with yourself as you step towards your best self. While our work is collaborative, my ultimate goal is that you'll become self-reliant and learn to trust your inner voice so you can live the life you want.

My door is open; I'm ready when you are.

Background

I'm a coach certified through the Co-Active Institute who is also certified through the professional coaching organizations EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) and ICF (International Coaching Federation). I've also been credentialed as a Rational Emotive Behavioral Coach and an Executive Function coach and have extensively studied somatic coaching and the principles of neuroscience in coaching. Additionally, I hold a Master's of Science in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology.

Finally, I also have experience working in the entertainment industry, the tech industry, and as a private tutor working with students from private schools, charter schools, and public schools. My coaching perspective and coaching practice have been shaped by my involvement in different industries and by living in various cities around the world. I have the privilege of working with a diverse set of clients.

I offer 1-1 and group coaching to clients from a diverse array of backgrounds and professions. I invite you to email me or schedule a complimentary, 15-minute consultation to see how we might work together to achieve your goals.

Please note: My passion is to uplift people regardless of skin color, religion, sexuality, or gender identity. For this reason, in my private practice, I work exclusively with clients who hold the same principles to ensure we're able to build a healthy coaching relationship.

PERFECTION IS FLAWED

This program is based on my Master's Thesis where I worked with individuals to develop skills and understandings to cope with

perfectionistic tendencies. The participants of the program shared great outcomes. They felt more at peace with themselves and their lives. They grew the courage to seize new opportunities and felt deeper satisfaction in their work and personal relationships. A higher sense of self-worth and self respect were realized, and they began living their lives on their terms, more connected to their needs, and they were able to express themselves with more freedom and joy. The goal of the program is to help you experience the same growth.

"Sona is an amazing coach. She guided me through a very difficult time in my life, and was able to take the loud noise of

my fear and anxiety and drill it down to the very specific items that I needed to work on to move forward. Sona is the consummate professional and I highly recommend her." - S.K.

"By working with el-e-vate I've been able to identify my passions and goals, and create and fulfill the steps necessary to make them a reality. The program pairs superb one on one sessions with simple, actionable tasks, and provides you with

the skills necessary to take control of your own life. I cannot recommend this enough - after feeling a bit lost career-wise

for a few years, it has helped to put me on a path that I'm incredibly excited and passionate about." - E.G.

"Over the past few years I've struggled with personal issues at home. Sona has helped me overcome these problems slowly by giving me great advice and by bringing a positive/optimistic perspective to my life. I can honestly say that Sona is a coach who genuinely cares most about helping her clients become better than anything else." - T.K.

"Coaching has helped me look at my life from an out of body perspective. It gives me the tools to distinguish what's really in front of me versus what I project onto various scenarios. It allows for a loving self reflection, points out obstacles I put in my own way, and provides me with a set of tools to practice self love in the face of challenges that inevitably pop up. Sona is a creative and dynamic coach whose emotional intelligence paves the way for both a trusting and wonderfully challenging coaching experience. Her love for guiding others toward self discovery and fulfillment is contagious. Sona's creative approach to coaching creates space for playful, imaginative exercises that illustrate various aspects of the self from new perspectives. Sona excels at creating an authentic dialogue with her clients in which she establishes a transparent and open line of communication that is truly rare. If you are looking to make meaningful and impactful changes in your life, I could not recommend Sona enough to guide you through your metamorphosis. I continually come back to our coaching practice in times where my tool set needs refreshing or adjustments based on what I'm experiencing in life at that moment. I am so lucky to have connected with Sona, and I look forward to working with for years to

come." - A. M.

"I cannot thank you enough for the impact you have had on my daughter's life. I see her "can do" attitude at school and getting the college stuff app organized and done. It's wonderful to see her so activated." - B.D.

"Working with Sona has exceeded my expectations. She is patient, clear, and willing to help at a moments notice. Students have been lucky to work with her." - A.S.

Here and now.

"Don't try to use what you learn from Buddhism to be a better Buddhist, use it to be a better whatever-you-already-are.
-Dalai Lama [from Why Buddhism is True]

Often as we continue to challenge ourselves to grow and learn, we can make the mistake of fully buying into all the new theories we're learning or fully adopting the personas of the mentors and coaches we work with. In doing so, we can end up feeling more off balance because we lose our connections to our inner voice. It can be just like losing your compass in the middle of a foreign land you've never been in.

I love this statement by the Dalai Lama. You are already who you need to be. Your core is in the perfect place. As you take on
new understandings, remember to do so while honoring the truth of who you are. Make sure to honor what your experiences have taught you. Treat your intelligence with the reverence it deserves. Listen to it. By doing so, you will remain centered, hold your power, and step into a deeper self-acceptance.

My promise to you is to coach with you in a way that honors your inner wisdom and rhythms.
